Chris Young is a sound designer and composer based in Cardiff. His music explores the use of found sound primarily but also includes voice & electronic elements. He studied at the University of Wales Newport where he earned a Hons degree in Creative Sound & Music and an MA in Creative Music Practise before moving in to theatre sound design. When working for theatre the aim is always to devise the music with the show as much as possible I.E live triggering sound and controlling effects to go with the movement of the piece. This practise of live composition, sourcing sound from rehearsals and field recording provides a sound design unique to every show.
